On July 20, 1969, humans set foot on the moon for the first time in history. It was a momentous achievement, not just for the United States but for all of humankind. It marked our species’ first foray into leaving our home planet and exploring the universe beyond. Since then, we’ve sent robotic probes to explore Mars and other parts of our solar system, but we haven’t sent anyone (or anything) back to the moon. That is about to change with the Artemis space program. In this blog post, we will explore what the Artemis space program is all about and why we are going back to the moon. We’ll also discuss some of the challenges facing the program and how they plan to overcome them. So sit back, strap in, and enjoy the ride!
